Talk is the only way before China to resolve the Tibet issue : Jigme Tsultrim
Nagpur : Talk is the only way for China to resolve the Tibet issue, said Jigme Tsultrim, co-ordinator, India Tibet Coordination Office, New Delhi, here on Thursday.
“China must follow the way of talks with Tibetans to resolve the Tibet issue in future. Penpa Tsering, the new President of Tibetan government in exile has also hinted the same after holding his position”, said Jigme Tsultrim.
Jigme Tsultrim was in Nagpur to promote their cause and interacted with media persons on this behalf on Wednesday.
“India always supported Tibetans and it is aware that Tibet issue cannot be just used as diplomatic or political leverage against China. The border stand-off between India and China that began in April 2020 has made New Delhi rethink its approach towards the Tibet issue” said Jigme.
“Core group for the Tibetan cause is reaching masses across India to gather political and social support for Tibet issue,” he said.
“It has been more than six decades for Tibetans in exile in India but still China has not given heed to Tibetans hues and cries for freedom and rights in Tibet. Therefore, we are approaching the Indian masses to get their support against China,” said Jigme.
The recent visit of Chinese President Xi Jinping to Nyingchi near India-Tibet border was an illegal step by China. They are trying to show that Arunachal Pradesh is a territory of China which we strongly condemned, said Jigme.
China has used Indo-Tibet border as a tool to occupy land and Chinese President’s recent visit to the border is also showed their evil mentality, said Jigme.
He further said the the Doklam standoff in 2017 was a tactics by China to expand its territory but India gave them a befitting reply to step back and stay in their limit.
Arvind Nikose, National Co-convenor (Western Region), Core Group for Tibetan Cause India and Sandesh Meshram, Regional convenor were also present on the occasion.
