New Delhi : The Supreme Court on Monday reserved its interim order on petitions seeking a court-monitored special probe into the alleged Pegasus snooping row after the Centre submitted that it would not file detailed affidavit in the matter.
A division bench of Chief Justice N V Ramana and justices Surya Kant and Hima Kohli gave its decision after a hearing that lasted about one-and-a-half hours.
During the proceedings, Solicitor General Tushar Mehta said the central government has decided not to file an additional affidavit in the case due to national security reasons.
Justice Ramana said if the government does not want to file an additional affidavit, then the court will have to pass its order in the matter.
More than a dozen petitions have been filed which includes those by senior journalists N Ram and Shashi Kumar, advocate ML Sharma and Editors Guild, seeking a court-monitored special probe into the alleged Pegasus snooping row.
