Rajiv Case Convict Nalini Released On Parole
Chennai, Dec 27: S. Nalini, one of the seven life convicts of the former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi assassination case, was on Monday released on 30-day parole (Ordinary leave) to care of her ailing mother.
After completing the formalities, Nalini came out of the Vellore Prison, where she has been lodged for the last 30 years. Amid tight security, she was escorted to Brahmapuram village in Vellore district where she will be taking care of her octogenarian mother.
It may be recalled that when a petition filed by her mother S. Padma seeking a direction to the state government to grant one month parole in view of her (Mother’s) health condition, the Tamil Nadu government informed a Division
Bench of Justice P. N. Prakash and Justice R. Hemalatha that orders has been passed granting one month parole to her.
