Mumbai Mayor files complaint against BJP leader, Ashish Shelar
Mumbai, Dec 9: A complaint was registered against Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Ashish Shelar for making unparliamentary remarks against women community recently, here on Thursday.
The Nariman point police station has registered a complaint against Shelar following a written complaint by Brihanmumbai municipal Corporatiion (BMC) Mayor Kishori Pednekar to the police over the remarks made by Mr Shelar regarding gas cylinder blast incident on November 30, this year at Worli in south-central Mumbai, in which three people including a child were killed.
Ms Pednekar said she was waiting for Mr Shelar to tender a public apology over his statement. On the contrary Mr Shelar refused to tender an apology.
Ms Pednekar said in her statement that BJP leader has not only insulted the first person of the city, but also insulted the entire women community. She demanded strict against Mr Shelar for his statement which maligns the image of the entire women community.
Meanwhile, registering a case against Mr Shelar at Nariman Point police station, BJP party supporters gathered outside Mr Shelar’s resident and shouted slogans in his support.
