Kishtwar Cloudburst: Jammu Zone Police initiates community kitchen, temporary shelters for victims
Jammu : Extending helping hand to the victims, Jammu Zone Police have initiated community kitchen and temporary shelters for the victims of cloudburst in Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir.
ADGP Jammu Zone, Mukesh Singh during his two days camping at Hounzar reviewed the course of ongoing rescue operations for the speedy recovery of those missing due to the natural calamity following a cloud burst and flash floods that struck Honza village.
J&K Police has started a community kitchen to provide meals to affected people of flood-hit village Hounzar area tehsil Dachhan Kishtwar, said the spokesman.
He said that the Police have begun the tent pitching to provide the temporary shelter at the site as an outreach to the needy.
Senior Superintendent of Police, Kishtwar Shafqat Hussain is camping at the flood-hit site to supervise the ongoing rescue and relief operations being carried out by JKP, NDRF, SDRF, Army, and civil administration.
“Search for the missing persons continues as the intensified rescue operations enter the fourth day at Hounzar, Dachhan,” he said.
Seven people died, 17 injured and several still missing in the Kishtwar cloudburst incident.
