Kashmir : Mobile internet remain shut
Srinagar : Mobile internet services of all Cellular companies, including Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), remained suspended in the Kashmir valley, where authorities restored voice call and broadband of all TSPs on Friday night after two days.
Internet service and mobile service all companies, barring BSNL, were suspended on Wednesday night as a precautionary measure following the death of separatist leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani, who breathed his last at his residence at Hyderpora in the outskirts of Srinagar.
The voice call and broadband services of all TSPs were restored last night. However, broadband of BSNL was working without any suspension in the valley.
Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir Range, K Vijay Kumar said in view of the peaceful situation, mobile service (voice call) and broadband of all TSPs were restored. Mobile service (voice call) and broadband of BSNL were never closed, he said.
However, internet on mobile shall remain suspended till Sunday afternoon, he said. People are yet again requested not to pay any heed to the rumours being maliciously spread by the anti-national elements especially from across the border with an objective to disturb the prevalent peaceful atmosphere in the valley.
