Floods :Quick relief to affected discussed with CM, along side panchnama delay, says Ajit Pawar
Mumbai : Maharashtra Deputy CM Ajit Pawar on Thursday said a cabinet meeting was held under the CM’s chairmanship to discuss upon providing immediate relief to the flood victims.
The District Collectors have been given full authority to spend whatever amount is required for the work, he told while assuring that there would be no shortage of funds.
Talking to media persons, Mr Pawar said, “Some areas are still flooded today. Therefore, it is becoming difficult to conduct panchnama but it will not be possible to know the condition of agricultural crops in the area without depletion of water.”
“Therefore, panchnama has been started where the water has receded and testified that help would be given to all,” he added.
“The weather department is still issuing red and orange alerts. Nothing can be said about the change in nature,” he mentioned.
He further said, “The leaders of the political parties in the state should allow the district collectors and the rest of the team to work in it. The leaders have the right to inspect but nodal officers have been appointed to give information.”
“If VVIPs and VIPs go, the entourage will follow them and work will be affected,” he reasoned.
