New Delhi, Dec 23 : Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday said the government has rammed up its capacity to deal with one lakh cases of Covid-19 per day.
Kejriwal told the media: “Since evidence suggests that Omicron gives mild illness, the government has strengthened its home isolation treatment guidelines.”
He said: “Stock for two months of essential medicines will be maintained, 15 cryogenic tankers will be purchased so that medical oxygen can be transported if required.”
The government will also increase the testing capacity to 3 lakh per day from the current 70,000, he added.
According to the Union Health Ministry, a total of 236 cases of the new variant of Covid-19 Omicron have been reported so far. Delhi is at the second spot after Maharashtra with 64 cases.
