Honkong: Over 100 trapped, more to be rescued in WTC fire mishap
Hongkong: Over 1,200 people have been rescued from Hong Kong’s World Trade Centre as dozens of firefighters managed to extinguish a fire that ripped through one of the city’s busiest buildings and left more than a dozen injured.
Everyone at the 39-story structure in Causeway Bay have been brought to safety by 5pm (09:00 GMT), after more than 300 were trapped earlier on the rooftop of the building, which houses both offices and a shopping centre, Police informed.
Police said the fire broke out in the machine room and moved to the scaffolding around the building. The building is currently under renovation.
