Crew of Russia’s crashed Il-112V military transport aircraft presumably died – Source
Moscow : The crew of an Il-112V light military transport aircraft that crashed in the Moscow region on Tuesday died, according to the preliminary information, a source in the aircraft industry told Sputnik.
“According to preliminary data, the entire crew on board died. The aircraft was completely destroyed during the fall and caught fire,” the source said.
It is likely that “a technical failure and engine fire” caused the aircraft crash, the source added.
“Since the aircraft was landing and had a low altitude and low speed, engine failure led to the stall of the aircraft and its fall, followed by its destruction from an impact on the ground and fire,” the source said.
