Back In Containment Zone, 2 COVID Positive In Bomikhal
Bhubaneswar, Dec 21: The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Tuesday declared a portion of Jayadurga Nagar in Bomikhal as containment zone following the discovery of two Covid positive persons in the area. The two patients live in Plot Nos 1303 and 1304 of Jayadurga Nagar in Bomikhal, says BMC.
In a notification, the civic body said, “To contain further spread of COVID-19, it is necessary to make the affected area as containment zone and to restrict public from entering into and going out of the containment zone.” Therefore, in larger public interest and with a view to contain the spread of COVID-19, the BMC decided to implement the following directions:
– Plot No. 1303/1304, Jayadurganagar, Bomikhal, Bhubaneswar is hereby declared as a containment Zone.
– No Public will be allowed to move into the containment zone and the residents within the containment zone will not move out.
– All the residents within the containment zone will strictly remain at home.
– BMC will supply essentials and ensure medical requirements for the inhabitants in the containment zone. Kishore Routray, Enforcement Inspector of BMC South East Zone will remain in charge of supplies where as Dr. Swapnarani Mohapatra( 9338733641) will remain in charge of medical requirements of the Citizens inside the containment area, the BMC order read.
The declaration of the containment zone by the civic authorities comes in the backdrop of the State reporting its first Omicron cases earlier during the day. The ILS announced that two foreign returnees, one from Nigeria and the other from Qatar, have been found infected with the new mutant which was detected during genome sequencing of 350 samples, including 19 foreign arrivals in the State. As per reports, 21 contacts of the infected persons have been traced so far.
