Barabati Stadium Hosts Legends League Cricket Holding Three Matches

Bhubaneswar, Sep 13: Three league matches of Legends League Cricket will be played in Barabati Stadium at Cuttack on September 26,27 and 29 next.

In the first match on September 26, Irfan Pathan Captain Bhilwara Kings and Harbhajan Singh Captain Mahipal Tigers will clash in the first match at Barabati stadium.

This season of the Legend League Cricket is played in the franchise format and the four teams in the league are owned by Adani Group, GMR Group, LNJ Bhilwara and Mahipal Group (MEMG).

The tournament has more than 79 retired players like Mohd Kaif, Jacques Kallis, Virender Sehwag, Irfan Pathan, Yusuf Pathan, Muttiah Muralitharan, R P Singh, Chris Gayle, Daniel Vittori and Monty Panesar and many more.

Overall 16 matches will be played during the league in five cities Kolkata, Lucknow, Delhi, Cuttack and Jodhpur.

Addressing newsmen on Monday Co-Founder & CEO, Legends League Cricket Raman Raheja,said, “We are thankful to Odisha Cricket Association for hosting Legends League Cricket matches at their ground in Cuttack.

He said “We have brought the best possible minds in the country together to be part of this season of Legends League Cricket is in itself heartening and overwhelming.

Raheja said “79 legends will be playing in the league at five different locations. The league will be going to make a huge impact on the fans and will break all previous records of similar leagues in the country.”

The league starts with a special match on September 16 between Indian Maharajas led by Virender Sehwag and World Giants led by Jacques Kallis.

The proceeds of the match will be given to Khushii Foundation, which is helping to empower girl child through education.
