Hindu Deity munches Chocolate! Offerings equal to devotees weight, click to know more

Bhubaneswar: Sometimes faith transcends traditions. In a temple in Kerala a deity in Subhramanyam temple is offered with chocolate as ‘prasad’. It may sound amusing but the tradition came into vogue a decade back when a boy had offered chocolate and since then the practice remained.

What is equally interesting is that, devotees who offer chocolate make it so voluminous that the weight of the offering equals their personal body weight.

It is equally mystifying that, as legend have it, once a boy who had offered chocolate as ‘prasad’ long back inside the sanctum sanctorum had vanished forever.

The news had spread like wildfire in the areas adjoining the temple and since then, the tradition of chocolate as offering has been going on.
