Ayodhya is the soul of India: President
Ayodhya : President Ram Nath Kovind said that without Ram, Ayodhya is unthinkable and the soul of the country lies in this city.
“Without Ram there is no Ayodhya. Ayodhya is where Ram is present. Lord Ram is sitting in this Ayodhya city forever ” he said adding that the literal meaning of Ayodhya is ‘with whom it is impossible to fight’.
“Due to the might and power of Raghuvanshi kings like Raghu, Dilip, Aja, Dashrath and Ram, their capital was considered invincible. Therefore the name ‘Ayodhya’ for this city will always be meaningful,” he said after inaugurating the Ramayana Conclave here at Ram Katha Park here on Sunday.
UP governor Anandiben Patel, chief minister Yogi Adityanath and other senior ministers, saints and dignitaries were present.
He said the popularity of Ram Katha is not only in India but worldwide. “There are many readable forms of Ramkatha like Goswami Tulsidas’s Ramcharit-Manas in North India, Kritivas Ramayana in the eastern part of India, Kamban Ramayana in the South,” he said.
Claiming that Ayodhya has a history of social harmony, President said the creation of such an inclusive society by Lord Ram is an excellent example of social harmony and unity, which is exemplary for all of us even today.
He said even Gandhiji has given the name of Ramrajya to his vision of ideal India. The name of Ram was very important in the life of Bapu too.
Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore had said that Ramayana and Mahabharata, both of these texts, have visions of the soul of India. It can be said that the ideals of Indian values, their stories and teachings, are contained in the Ramayana.
