Mumbai : The BSE Sensex on Thursday remained weak in the opening session, as it eased by 38.32 pts at 59,374.95 as selling was witnessed in Metal, Oil and Gas and Energy stocks.
The Nifty too slipped by 22 pts at 17,688.40.
The sensex registered days high and low at 59,549.57 and 59,228.22 pts respectively.
The Nifty recorded days high and low at
17,739.90 and 17,658.45 pts.
The Mid Cap rose by 0.47 pc and Small Cap by 0.67 pc.
In 30 scrips, 14 advanced while 16 declined.
The losers were Powergrid by 1.67 pc to Rs 191.85, Bajaj Auto by 0.91 pc to Rs 3862.85, Kotak Bank by 0.89 pc to Rs 2012.80 and Ultracemco by 0.85 pc to Rs 7403.70.
The gainers were Bharti Airtel by 1.45 pc to Rs 704.40, Dr Reddy’s Lab by 0.97 pc to Rs 4928.40, SBI by 0.68 pc to Rs 463.25 and Bajaj Finserv by 0.65 pc to Rs 17,542.
