Mumbai, Dec 24: The BSE Sensex on Friday fell by 215.85 points at 57,099.47 in opening session as selling was seen in Materials, Finance, Heath Care and Industrials stocks.
The Nifty too slipped 84.90 points at 16.,987.70.
The sensex registered days high and low at 57,623.69 and 56,994.58 points respectively.
The Nifty registered days high and low at 17,155.60 and 16,966.65 points respectively.
The Mid Cap eased by 0.78 per cent and Small Cap by 0.48 per cent.
In 30 scrips, 10 advanced while 20 declined.
The losers were IndusInd Bank by 2.32 per cent to Rs 851, Kotak Bank by 2.05 per cent to Rs 1739.80, NTPC by 1.52 per cent to Rs 122.70 and SBI by 1.49 per cent to Rs 455.05.
The gainers were HCL Technology by 2.19 per cent to Rs 1254.15, ITC by 1.22 per cent to Rs 219.95, Tech Mahindra by 0.70 per cent to Rs 1695.60 and Asian Paints by 0.53 per cent to Rs 3284.20.
