A smiling Rahul Gandhi after 511 kms Bharat Jodo Jatra/ And that is one of the major gist that the Congress to use after the thumping victory in Karnataka Assembly polls.

No mere feat it was bagging 135 out of 224 seats send the grand old party a cause for celebration.

But, according to sources there, one cannot deny the local leaders for their sustained and well calibrated campaign that the BJP somehow failed to gauge in its over-riding mood and a riding rough shod mental bend.

Plus what added to that the Bharat Jodo Jatra and Rahul Gandhi’s relentless efforts that was mercilessly bulldozed by the BJP’s underestimation of the entire gamut of it .

So these three  factors, the Congress claims to have tilted the balance in their favour where the convergence of Dalit votes played the deciding role forcing the BJP for a quick soul searching before 2024 mega show.    

 

One of longest legs of the Bharat Jodo Yatra — a journey of over 4,000 km spanning 150 days — was in Karnataka where Gandhi covered 511 km in 21 days.

In all smiles the two crucial designers of the Jatra Jairam Ramesh and Ashok Ghelot helped to rummage through the saffron maze, say sources.

Of these 20 constituencies, nine were won by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the 2018 Assembly elections, while six were won by the Janata Dal (Secular). In the recent elections, the Congress won five.

Rahul led Bharat Jodo Yatra covered many which includes Melukote Assembly constituency in Mandya district where it supported Darshan Puttannaiah from Sarvodaya Karnataka Paksha (SKP).
