Bhubaneswar: Two young girls, around 12 and 14 years old, were reportedly gang raped by two men at Patia railway station on Monday night. Their family members filed a complaint with the Infocity Police Station with assistance from Bhubaneswar Childline.
The girls had gone to the railway station on Monday evening when they were kidnapped and taken to a railway overbridge. They were tied up and raped for the entire night. They were threatened with death if they spoke about the incident.
The next morning, the girls were released and shared their experience with their parents. The perpetrators attempted to bribe the family to keep quiet, but Childline reported the incident to the police.
The victims were rescued with the help of the Infocity Police and an FIR was filed by the mother of one of the girls with assistance from Childline. The crime scene was investigated by the GRP Police Bhubaneswar.
