Odisha extends tenure of Patients Facilitation centre by another year

Bhubaneswar, June 2: The Odisha government on Friday extended the tenure of the Patients Facilitation Centre opened by the state government at Vishakhapatnam by another year (2023-24).

A sum of Rs 10 lakh is provided for the purpose from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund.
Giving approval to the proposal, the Chief Minister said the poor tribals from Malkangiri would be benefitted by it.

The state government has opened a Patients Facilitation Centre in Vishakhapatnam in 2016 to provide high quality health care to the people of Malkangiri.

Most of the people from Malkangiri go to Vishakhapatnam for health care as it is close to Malkangiri and high quality health care is not available in Malkangiri.

At the Facilitation centre free boarding and food is provided to the people of Malkangiri.
From 2016 till 2022, Odisha government has provided Rs 55 lakh assistance to the Faciliation centre. While Rs 25 lakh is provided in 2016, a sum of Rs 10 lakh assistance is given in 2020, 2021 and 2022.
