The carcass of an elephant calf was found dead near Kusumudi village under Koida Forest Range in Odisha’s Sundargarh district on Monday.
The elephant calf was around five years old, officials said.
According to reports, the matter came to the fore after local villagers spotted the carcass of the elephant calf near the village and informed the Forest department. Soon, Forest officials reached the spot, seized the carcass of the animal and started an investigation into the incident.
