Truth always prevails. It breaks out of hundred chains. In the education sector for example the seeds of failures are so deep rooted that, students are deprived of a black-board in a school and the teacher has to teach writing on the doors of a class room.
A government school in Odisha landed in a kind of soup after a viral video showed a teacher using a classroom door as a blackboard. Moments after this Odisha school went viral, a show-cause notice was issued.
In the video which went viral, a teacher can be seen writing exam questions on the classroom door as there is no blackboard present in the classroom.
As per a PTI report, parents of the students at Hingula Government High School have alleged that the door is used as a blackboard all year round.
Following the viral video, Jajpur District Education Officer, DEO and project director of the Samagra Shiksha scheme has issued a show cause notice to the government school.
“We have served a show-cause notice to the headmistress of the school for dereliction of duty, and asked her to reply within three days failing which necessary action will be initiated,” stated the DEO.
As per local reports, this government school was one of those which was upgraded under the 5T Initiative introduced by the state government.
Defending the school, Headmistress Saraswati Panda has stated that the classroom door is NOT used as a blackboard all throughout the year.
“We have two smart classrooms. As the school has more than 400 students from classes 1-8, who are appearing for the examination, we made adjustments for sitting arrangements in all the rooms. Since the school building does not have blackboards, we had to write the questions on the classroom door,” she stated. A probe has been issued and the school authorities have been asked to respond within three days.
