CM Stalin Stops En-route To Talk To Student Holding Placard

Tamil Nadu, Feb 3: Chief Minister MK Stalin on Thursday stopped his car while en-route to the Tamil Nadu Assembly to meet with a class 12 student holding a placard saying ‘CM Sir Help Me’.

The student, identified as a native of Andhra Pradesh, met Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin and thanked him for opposing the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) exams.

The student however was unable to clear the NEET exam.

Earlier in September 2021, the Stalin-led state government had passed the Tamil Nadu Admission to Undergraduate Medical Degree Courses Bill against the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) for the students of the state to exempt them from the Union government’s medical entrance exam.

All political parties, except the BJP, supported the bill that provides for admitting students to undergraduate program in medicine on the basis of their performance in the Class 12 examination. The Tamil Nadu government claimed that the move was in the interest of “social justice”.
