Amelia Kerr Tests Covid+

Auckland, July 18: New Zealand’s preparation for the upcoming Commonwealth Games have taken a hit as star all-rounder Amelia Kerr has tested positive to Covid-19.

“Kerr is in isolation after testing positive for Covid-19 on Saturday. She has produced a positive Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) and will undergo a period of hotel isolation before re-joining the team,” New Zealand Cricket said in a statement on Monday.

The 21-year-old is the only player from the tour party to test positive, while the rest of the group will continue to be monitored and tested.

The White Ferns have another week of training at Millfield School, including two practice matches against England A, before transferring to Birmingham for the 2022 Commonwealth Games at the end of July.
