President Kovind’s Odisha Visit: Inaugurates World Vaishnav Conference

Bhubaneswar, Feb 20: President Ramnath Kovind inaugurated the 150th Birth Anniversary celebrations of Srimad Saraswati Goswami Prabhupada in Puri.

President Kovind was received by Odisha Governor Ganeshi Lal, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik at the Bhubaneswar airport in the presence of Chief Secretary Suresh Mohapatra and Police DG Sunil Bansal yesterday.

The President visited the Puri Srimandir yesterday.

He has inaugurated the celebration of the 150th birth anniversary of Srimad Bhakti Sidhant Saraswati Goswami Prabhupada, the founder of Goudiya Mission.

Following the event which he is expected to attend a program of Sri Chaitanya Gaudiya Mutt.

He is presently staying in Puri Raj Bhawan due to security reasons.

Around 40 platoons of police force are deployed for the security of President Kovind. About 200 police officers will be also deployed to ensure smooth conduct of the programs.

Adding to it, Puri King Gajapati Maharaj Dibyasingh Deb has reportedly tested positive for COVID-19 earlier on Friday.

In a press release, the office of King Gajapati Divyasingh Deb said that the King was slated to welcome President Ram Nath Kovind during his visit to Puri today. However as his report turned out to be positive for the deadly virus, he has decided to stay in seven-day home isolation and not attend any public meeting.

 

The other dignitaries who were present on the occasion of the inauguration ceremony were, Governor Prof Ganeshi Lal and Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, many others.

President Ram Nath Kovind arrived in Bhubaneswar on Saturday on a two-day visit to Odisha.
