“Cases of Omicron variant of the virus are rising. People need to be more careful. Violation of COVID-19 guidelines will attract a penalty of Rs 500,” the civic body said.

The BMC urged citizens to wear masks while going outside, maintain a minimum distance of two metres from others at public places, and stay away from crowd.
