Covid-19 Cases In Odisha Doubled In Past 24 Hours

Bhubaneswar, June 9: The authorities in Odisha are concerned after the number of Covid positive cases in the state doubled during the past 24 hours taking the total tally to 12,88,576.

The state reported 15 covid positive cases on Tuesday and it rose to 31 on Wednesday.

Information and Public Relations department sources here said out of the 31 cases the highest number of 16 positive cases were reported from Cuttack district followed by 10 in Khurdha district.
Out of 31 cases, 18 were recorded as quarantine cases while 13 were local contact cases. The number included two in the age group of 0 to 18 years.
Cuttack Covid Nodal Officer Umesh Ray said 56 inmates of a hostel of a private education institution had undergone a Rapid Antigen test after they showed signs of Covid.
Out of the 56, as many as 13 tested positive. He said the RT PCR test of all the students of the institution would be done on Thursday.
The state has now 127 active cases while 12,79,270 covid patients have been cured and discharged from the hospital.
