Varun Gandhi attacks govt of not acting against likes of Mallya, Nirav Modi

New Delhi, Feb 18 : BJP leader Varun Gandhi on Friday took a dig at the union government naming runaway tycoons Vijay Mallya and Nirav Modi, and blamed the government of not taking action against the corrupt. In a tweet, Varun Gandhi said, “Vijay Mallya: 9000 crores, Nirav Modi: 14000 crores, Rishi Aggarwal: 23000 crores. Today, when about 14 people are committing suicide in the country every day under the burden of debt, the life of such money animals is at the peak of splendor,” he said in a tweet in Hindi. “A ‘strong government’ is expected to take ‘strong action’ on this super corrupt system,” he said. Varun Gandhi, who was recently dropped from the National Executive of the BJP along with his mother and former union minister Maneka Gandhi, has earlier attacked the government over farmers’ protests as well. He had also demanded compensation for the deaths of farmers during the year-long protest and had called for stringent action against Union Minister Ajay Mishra’s son Ashish, who among the accused in the Lakhimpur Kheri incident.
