Nupur Sharma Row Travels Far From Here And BJP Should Rethink Its Agenda At Home And Outside

As the celebrations in the BJP pick up momentum for the completion of eight years of Modi in rule, the development, post the controversial statements by Nupur Sharma and Naveen Kumar Jindal have put a spoke in the wheel of popularity.

Manly so, the hard earned reputation by Narendra Modi to spread his popularity abroad has obviously suffered a huge set back after spates of reactions from outside. And the Indian diaspora in countries like UK and even US today stay divided.

It was not easy to brazen it out so the steps came like expelling Naveen K Jindal and suspending Sharma. Else, it could have further boiled down to become more critical for the BJP to maintain its domestic agendas.

But what now remains to be a major issue is that how BJP has to salvage its international gains and the outreach. Every other day an air of acrimony spills out so, the steps against Sharma and Jindal could have been timed earlier.

The toxicity has spread far and wide. Every Muslim groups in different countries have started playing evangelist role to gain traction among the diasporas there.

Quite a good number of people who comprise vote banks in western societies have also, themselves victims of racism or police excess and gun-culture, have sounded in support of being more compassionate and fair towards minorities. Which is something that would impact the BJP-led government in India in the long run.

Certain diasporas in US are using the terms like ‘Hindu Americans, instead using the ‘Indian Americans’ making the divisions more pronounced.

It is time that, the BJP should rethink on its domestic agenda which somehow directly impacts its foreign agendas also.

BJP should have the realization, and they do have, of course, that for India international partners are equally important as the people in India. Without which any solidarity remain in suspension of disbelief.
