India Sent First Tranche Of Humanitarian Assistance To Ukraine, Sending Three More: MEA

New Delhi, Mar 2 : India has sent the first tranche of humanitarian assistance to Ukraine in the form of medicines, and medical equipment, and will be sending three more tranches of aid, the MEA said on Wednesday. MEA spokesperson Arindam Bagchi said that India sent humanitarian aid in the form of medicines, and medical equipments as well as tents, blankets, solar lamps, sleeping mats etc on board an Indian Air Force flight that left yesterday through Poland. “We expect to send three more tranches, which will have tents, blankets, sleeping mats etc. of 16 tonnes each shipment,” he said, adding that one of the shipments will be sent today by an IAF flight, and the other to Romania. He also said that the MEA control room for Operation Ganga has attended 9,874 calls so far and responded to 7,650 messages.
