Chandigarh, Jan 2: A day after heated arguments between Chandigarh Congress President Subhash Chawla and former Leader of Opposition in Municipal Corporation and senior leader Devinder Singh Babla, the Congress on Sunday expelled Devinder Singh Babla from the primary membership of the party.
Babla along with his councilor wife Harpreet Kaur Babla joined the BJP on Sunday.
Infighting in the city Congress came into the open on Saturday when senior leaders Subhash Chawla and Devinder Singh Babla nearly came to blows in the visitors’ gallery of the Municipal Corporation complex during the oath-taking ceremony of the new councilors.
