PM Calls Upon People To Celebrate Yoga Day

New Delhi, May 29: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday called upon the countrymen to celebrate International Yoga Day on June 21st with great enthusiasm.

“International Yoga Day will be celebrated on June 21st. This year, the theme of ‘Yoga Day’ is ‘Yoga for Humanity’. I would urge all of you to celebrate the Day’ with great enthusiasm,” the PM said during his ‘Mann Ki Baat ‘ address.

Emphasising on the importance of Yoga, Modi said, “The Covid pandemic has made us realise the importance of health and Yoga being a great medium in ensuring the same.”

Citing that Yoga has become an integral part of everyone’s life, Modi said, “People are experiencing how much physical, spiritual and intellectual well being is receiving a boost through Yoga, he added.”

From the world’s top business persons to film and sports personalities, from students to common people, everyone is making yoga an integral part of their life, Modi added.

He also informed that the 100 day countdown leading to ‘Yoga Day’ is also underway and programmes based on personal and social efforts, have already begun three months ago.

“You should all start preparations for ‘Yoga Day’ on your own. Meet more and more people, urge everyone to join the programme. I am sure that all of you will participate enthusiastically as well as adopt Yoga in your daily life,” Modi said.

The PM also appealed people to choose any place in their city, town or village which is most special to celebrate the Day.

He asserted that with this, along with Yoga, the identity of the area will also be reinforced and tourism will also get a boost.
