World No Tobacco Day:SLG Hospitals raise awareness about ill-effects of tobacco on Health

Hyderabad, May 29 : SLG Hospitals, one of the leading healthcare facilities in the city, on Sunday commemorated ‘World No Tobacco Day 2022’ with a ‘5K Running and Cycling’ event.
This event was organized to raise awareness on the ill and deadly effects of tobacco on the health of people; and was inaugurated by Quthbullapur Assembly Constituency MLA K P Vivekananda along with SLG Hospitals Chairman and Managing Director Mr. Dandu Siva Rama Raju.
Organized in association with Happy Hyderabad Cycling Club and Hyderabad Cycling Group, the event started at 6 a.m. from the SLG Hospitals campus and participants went around Nizampet area, to spread awareness against tobacco consumption.
Commenting on the event, Mr. D V S Soma Raju, Executive Director, SLG Hospitals said, the unfortunate reality is that even before they realize, tobacco would have had an adverse effect on the health of those who smoke and those who live with these smokers. SLG Hospitals believe in prevention over cure and has remained at the forefront to create awareness on various ailments, its causes, and possible prevention methods.
More than 600 cyclists, runners, and fitness enthusiasts participated in the event.
