Covid- 19: SRC Announces Feb’ Guidelines, Clamp On Fairs & Cultural Gatherings

Bhubaneswar, Jan 31: Keeping in view the declining trend of COVID-19 cases in the state, Odisha Government today relaxed the night curfew restriction with effect from February 1 (tomorrow).

Issuing the fresh guidelines, Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) on Monday, said night curfew will be imposed in all urban areas of the state from 10 pm to 5 am every day.

All kinds of shops, malls and shopping complexes, markets, cinema halls, swimming pools, entertainment complexes, auditoriums, assembly halls and similar places will remain open across the state from 5 am to 10 pm every day. But the state government has still holds restrictions of fairs, cultural gatherings as earlier. The holy Magaha Saptami festival will be held without devotees. Devotees are restricted gathering and mass holy baths at ponds and river. The SRC has also advised people to observe Saraswati Puja at home with all sanctity and religious practice.

However, the night curfew restriction will not be applicable to emergency services, including healthcare and transportation of essential items.

Earlier in January, the state Government had imposed night curfew from 9 pm to 5 am.
