Bharat Jodo Yatra- Odisha to commence on October 31

Bhubaneswar, Oct 28 : Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) President Sarat Patnaik will lead the Bharat Jodo Yatra-Odisha on October 31 on the death anniversary of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi from Indira Gandhi Park in Bhubaneswar.
Bharat Yatra Jodo-Odisha is planned as the state was not covered under Bharat Jodo Yatra led by former Congress President Rahul Gandhi which started from Kanyakumari on September 7 last due to geographical constraints.

Bharat Jodo Odisha Implementation Committee Chairman Santosh Singh Saluja said the Padayatra will culminate on January 30 next at Bhubaneswar after covering 27 districts, 19 parliamentary constituencies, covering 2250 kms in 100 days.

He said the objective of the Yatra is to bring a transformational change in the social, economic and political sector.

Saluja said all the Party MPs, MLAs, former MPs, MLAs, Ministers , leaders of various frontal organisations, unemployed youths, students, farmers and workers will participate in the Bharat Jodo Yatra Odisha.

During the Yatra, the party leaders would apprise the people of the state about the anti -people policies of both the BJP and the BJD governments and try to strengthen the party organisation.
The party ,Saluja said will sensitise people about corruption, unemployment, rising incidents of crime against women and children during the 22 years rule of the BJD government.
The Congress will also educate people about the appeasement, divisive, policy of the central government, price rise and unemployment.
The Congress leader said the BJP and the RSS are spreading the message of hate and violence for their political benefit and destroying the unity and brotherhood of the people of the country.

The BJP government, he alleged, is handing over the national property like Airport, ports, mines , banks and railways to capitalists.
