‘Puss in Boots: The Last Wish’ Trailer Drops With The Sword-wielding Feline Making A Comeback

Los Angeles, March 16 : Making its comeback to theatres after years, the Shrek franchise is back as Puss in Boots returns with his new adventure in ‘Puss in Boots: The Last Wish’. The trailer for the new adventures of the swashbuckling Spanish feline swordscat is finally out with Antonio Banderas reprising his role. Having lost over eight lives now, Puss is now remaining with just one and he has to be careful with it. Also coming to the film is Puss’s love interest, Kitty Softpaws portrayed by Salma Hayek, and other new cast have also made their entry into the franchise with Harvey Guillén as Kitty’s and Puss’ new canine contact Perro, Florence Pugh, Olivia Colman, Wagner Moura, Ray Winstone, John Mulaney, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, Anthony Mendez, and Samson Kayo.

Puss was first introduced in ‘Shrek 2’ as something akin to a more parody based Zorro which is not all that strange given that Antonia Banderas has also played the iconic Spanish sword wielding hero in two films and has been very popular with the audience, with the first film having grossed a collective $554 million. Despite its success however, the project remained in development hell for years before finally getting the green light. “We started the new one four days ago,” Banderas told Collider back in 2014. “It did incredibly well with audiences and critics, all around the world, and the character is going to keep going. With Jeffrey [Katzenberg], whatever he wants. He’s one of my favorite producers. This character was born almost 12 years ago. We have had a lot of fun with him, and it seems that audiences do, too. So, we’re doing another one.” The film is directed by Joel Crawford and will be released on September 23.
