Sambalpur (Odisha) July 2 : Seven drug peddlers including a minor boy, were arrested from the Fatak area of this town in Odisha’s Sambalpur district on Saturday, police said.
13.080 grams of brown sugar were seized from their possession.
Police identified the accused as Md Sanu, Md Shahzad, Sk Babar, Md Safik, Amir Khan, Bijay Nag and a minor boy.
Acting on a tip-off, the police under the direct guidance of the district police superintendent B Gangadhar, conducted a raid and arrested the drug peddlers and forwarded them to court.
Police also seized 140 cough syrup bottles from them,
Police said they were bringing the brown sugar from Kolkata and selling it in Odisha.
The SP said some other persons are also involved in the trade. Efforts are on to nab them
