Vigilance sleuths nab a CDVO carrying unaccounted cash

Bhubaneswar : The sleuths of Odisha Vigilance today intercepted Nuapada Chief District Veterinary Officer (CDVO) Trilochan Dhal near Tarini temple, Nuapada while he was moving towards Cuttack on a government car and seized Rs 2,27,000 from his possession.
Vigilance sources said Mr Dhal could not account for the money he was carrying with him to the vigilance officials.
The Vigilance officials swung into action on receipt of the information on the collection of huge illegal gratification by Mr Dhal from different sources.
Following the interception, three teams led by three DSPs, four Inspectors and other staff searched his office room, residential government quarter at Nuapada and his house at native village Naraj, under Baranga, Police station of Cuttack district.
During the search, cash of Rs 50,000 was found from his office table drawer and cash of Rs 51,200 from his official residential quarter at Nuapada.
The investigation of the case is in progress.
