LOPAR forms over BOB, Odisha likely to witness heavy rainfall

Bhubaneswar: A Low Pressure Area has been formed over East-central & adjoining Northeast Bay of Bengal under the influence of the cyclonic circulation over East-central Bay of Bengal & neighborhood, informed the Bhubaneswar Meteorological Centre on Saturday.

The system is very likely to move west-northwestward & concentrate into a Depression during next 48 hours, it added.

As informed by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) earlier, fairly widespread to widespread rainfall with isolated heavy to very heavy falls is likely over Odisha, Chhattisgarh during September 12 to 14.

Isolated extremely heavy falls are also likely over Odisha on September 13.
