Jeypore: In a major breakthrough, huge cache of over 1 tonne ganja has been seized by Odisha police on Tuesday from a banana-laden truck near Koraput ghat here. 2 persons have been detained two persons in this connection.
Reportedly, Jeypore Sadar police intercepted a banana-laden truck near Koraput ghat during patrolling. During the search, they recovered over 1 tonne of the contraband stashed underneath banana bunches and have detained two persons in this connection for further questioning.
The market value of seized ganja is expected to be more than Rs 1 crore.
The ganja was illegally transported to some other states from Odisha.
Further investigation is underway.
