Italian couple adopts two orphan sisters of Balasore

Balasore : An Italian issueless couple had adopted two orphan sisters of Balasore following legal clearances and moved to their country along with them
The minor siblings, a native of Baliapal block were lodged in a distressed home, Kanyashrama , Dhobasila, Nilgiri when they had no means of eking out their livelihood after losing their father and mother in 2016.
The couple Zendri Christian and Giordani Lnrica, both in government services and residing at Frazione Albaredo, Vallarsa, Italy had applied for adoption before the Family court Baripada in November last year.
The court had given favourable order to their petition and observed the prospective adoptive
parents to be treated as natural parents of these children .
CWC Chairman Bhagirathi Bariik said, “There is provision of inter-country adoption and as per
the rule the Italian couple are eligible to adopt.
After completion of all legal formalities including verifications by the district child protection unit
the children were handed over to the Italian couple and the CWC has facilitated the adoption
process.
The couple have to abide by the conditions of the adoption as per Indian law and the wellbeing
of the children will be monitored by Indian agencies .”
After the death of their parents the children had a very tough time surviving . They were residing
under a polythene sheet and eking out on daily wages when they were picked by the child welfare agencies .
When the two sisters, one 14 year and the other 9 year old, left the distressed home everyone including the caretakers and inmates of the child care institution wept bidding farewell .
The Italian couple before leaving the distressed home assured that they would provide the best
of education to the children and when feasible will bring them to the Kanyashram .
