UP Legislature’s Winter Session

Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh state legislature will start from Wednesday for a short but important winter session, informed the officials on Tuesday. The session will be of three days from December 15 to 17.

The session is expected to be a stormy one, with the opposition out to use the last opportunity to counter the Yogi Adityanath government on various issues. This is expected to be the last session of the 17th assembly as elections are expected in February-March next year.

State assembly officials here on Tuesday said that on Wednesday the assembly will be adjourned for the day after paying condolence on the death of sitting BSP MLA and former Assembly speaker Sukhdeo Rajbhar.

On the second day on December 16, state Finance Minister Suresh Kumar Khanna will lay the second supplementary budget for the current fiscal. Mr. Khanna will also bring a vote on account for the first four months of the next fiscal. Both the the second supplementary and vote on accounts will be passed on December 17.
