Pandemic Surge In Maha: 16 students of Navi Mumbai school test Covid-19 positive

Mumbai: As many as 16 students of a school at Ghansoli in Navi Mumbai have tested positive for Covid and admitted to a local  Covid Care Centre, news agency PTI reported on Saturday. They are students of Classes 8 to 11, a Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) official said.

After eight more people were detected with the new variant of Covid- 19 infected, the number of Omicron cases in Maharashtra rose to 40 by 17th Dec. Of the new patients, six are in Pune and one each in Mumbai and Kalyan Dombivali. Of the total cases in the state, 25 have recovered and are discharged.

A 29-year-old man with a travel history to the US has been diagnosed with the Omicron in Mumbai. He has been vaccinated with three doses of Pfizer, according to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC). Mumbai reported 295 Covid-19 cases and one death on Friday, taking its caseload to 7,66,508 and toll to 16,363. The city has 1,940 active cases.
